What is extravagant worship?
First, let us define extravagant, according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
- spending much more than necessary.
Now, let us define worship, according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
- to honor or show reverence for as a divine being or supernatural power and;
- to regard with great or extravagant respect, honor or devotion.
So therefore, EXTRAVAGANT WORSHIP is spending much more to honor, respect, show reverence to God who saved, loved, our redeemer, restorer, hope & the King who is coming.
Read, Luke 7:36-47 (TPT)
A prostitute woman who came, kneeled and bowed down, anointed our Lord Jesus with an exquisite perfume and poured out only to His feet. She was broken and weeping and drying Jesus feet with her hair.
But do you ever, ask yourself; how do I worship God? Do I give all out worship just like the woman? Do I give extravangant worship to God?
We don’t need an expensive perfurme or anything expensive to give extravangant worship.
Our Lord deserves all the praise, all glory and all honor. He is not asking us to offer an expensive perfume. What HE wants from us is a HEART.
Pusong binago, pusong basag sa Panginoon, pusong handang magpagamit sa LORD.
Psalm 34:18 says; “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted & saves the crushed in spirit.”
Kailangan sa tuwing lalapit ka sa Lord basag ka in a sense na UHAW ka sa presence ng LORD, SABIK ka sa yakap ng Panginoon. Yung bang feeling ng una mong maencounter si LORD. Ganun yung gusto N’ya, pusong sabik sa Kanya.
Because the Lord is looking for true worshipers.
Extravagant worship changes everything.
“When we worship, it is like a tribute to God when He comes.” – Eugene Peterson
Hindi puwedeng paulit – ulit lang pagsamba natin, baka nagiging routine na lang at hindi na worship.
Baka kailangan alisin natin yung veil na nakaharang sa mukha natin.
We need to take another look; look, look, look until looking becomes seeing.
Remember King David, how he worshiped God when the Ark of the Covenant was returned to Israel.
Halos mahubaran na sya. Bakit? Kasi si Lord lang ang focus niya hindi ibang tao. Si LORD lang ang audience niya.
Dapat ganun din tayo katulad ni King David, maging baliw sa pagpupuri sa Kanya kasi deserve ni LORD yun. Sa lahat ng oras, panahon at kalagayan natin He deserves an extravagant worship.
Remember this God is present, every where and any time. We have to give all out worship to God in our alone time or corporate meetings or fellowship.
And we must draw near to God so He can draw near to us.
